The Vogtei Tower on the Rodter Höhe in the Black Forest

Table of contents

High above Loßburg stands the impressive Vogtei Tower – a 35-meter-high observation tower made of Douglas fir wood. Here, a fantastic view over the holiday region and the Black Forest awaits you. The tower was built in 2002 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Loßburg local branch of the Black Forest Association and has since become a real visitor magnet.

Reaching New Heights for the Perfect View

172 steel steps lead you to the platform at a height of 31 meters. Once at the top, you will be rewarded with a magnificent vista in good weather – stretching from Loßburg to the Swabian Alb. It’s a sight you won’t soon forget.

Combine Your Visit with a Short Hike

A trip to the Vogtei Tower can be wonderfully combined with a varied hike. Start at the outdoor swimming pool in Loßburg and stroll through the “Loßburger Zauberland” (Loßburg Enchanted Land). Follow the Water Experience Loop, accompanied by Winni, the water droplet girl. The path leads along the Kinzigsee (Lake Kinzig) and past the source of the Kinzig River, through the forest, past the “Hexenhäusle” (Witch’s Cottage) and the “Himmelsleiter” (Stairway to Heaven), until you finally reach the Vogtei Tower.

At the top, enjoy the unique 360° view before heading back down to the town. Along the way, cozy inns invite you to take a short break. The return route leads you along the historic millrace back to the starting point.
